On Friday, 27 February 2026, Timor Port S.A. inaugurated a newly completed sanitation facility at a school in Ulmera, marking the successful completion of a project launched during Solidarity Day 2025.

Welcome ceremony

The ceremony was attended by representatives of Timor Port S.A., the Village Chief and community leaders, officials from the Municipal Authority of Liquiça, members of the Polícia Nacional de Timor-Leste (PNTL), school representatives, and members of the local community.

The initiative began on 25 September 2025 with a First Stone Launching Ceremony. The project was designed to support education and sanitation by improving hygiene conditions and creating a safer, more comfortable learning environment for students.

With the construction now completed, the new facility will contribute to better health, dignity, and daily comfort for children and teachers. Access to proper sanitation plays an essential role in supporting student attendance and overall well-being.

This project reflects our belief that supporting education also means supporting the basic needs that allow students to learn in a safe and healthy environment. Through Solidarity Day, we continue to stand alongside our communities and invest in their future.

Laurent Palayer, CEO at Timor Port S.A.

Through this commitment, Timor Port continues to build the foundations for sustainable community development by investing in school infrastructure that promotes health, dignity, and equal opportunities for the next generation in Timor-Leste.
