Tsuneishi Shipbuilding representatives visited Timor Port S.A. on Thursday, 21 May, for a meeting and site visit aimed at strengthening engagement and exploring potential collaboration ahead of the planned shipyard construction project scheduled to commence next year.

The Tsuneishi Shipbuilding delegation included Mr. Takahiro Kubo, President of Tsuneishi Timor Shipbuilding; Mr. Hiroya Kobayashi, Group Leader and Chief Electrical Engineer; Mr. Yuki Mitani, Sales Manager of the Construction Machinery Division; and Ms. Yuu Yoshimori, Consultant and Interpreter.

This visit allowed both parties to exchange views on port operations, infrastructure capacity, and anticipated logistical needs related to the future development of the shipyard. The project is expected to generate significant import and export volumes, particularly of construction materials, machinery, and equipment, thus contributing to increased freight traffic at the Port of Timor SA.

During this visit, the Tsuneishi delegation toured the facilities of Timor Port SA and reviewed key operational areas, paying particular attention to electrical infrastructure, the energy capacity of the facilities and cargo handling systems in order to assess the port’s capacity to support future large-scale industrial operations.

“Timor Port S.A. is pleased to welcome the Tsuneishi Shipbuilding delegation. This meeting demonstrates the importance of early collaboration as we continue to strengthen Timor-Leste’s maritime infrastructure and support its future industrial growth.”

Rafael Ribeiro, Chairman of Timor Port S.A.
