On March 27, 2026, Timor Port provided concrete support to the Santiago Hera school by donating computers to improve student learning in this isolated community. This initiative is fully aligned with the port’s commitment to education, digital inclusion, and local development.

A digital training program tailored to students’ needs

With this equipment, the institution will be able to implement a practical training program focused on fundamental skills such as: typing, document creation and formatting, document research and best practices in the safe and responsible use of technologies.

This approach aims to ensure that students are not left behind in a world where digital skills are essential.

Father Herculano Nunes, SVD, director of the Santiago Hera school, emphasized the positive impact of this gesture: “The support from the Port of Timor will open new perspectives for our students and help them prepare for the challenges and opportunities of the future.”

For her part, Benvinda Carvalho, Compliance and CSR delegate of Timor Port, reaffirmed the port’s ambition: “This donation is part of Timor Port’s CSR commitment to empowering young people and giving them the opportunity to learn, explore and grow through technology.”

A sustainable investment for the future of Timor-Leste

Beyond the material donation, this action marks the beginning of a lasting commitment to education and community development for Timor Port.
By providing students with the essential digital skills for learning, communication and future employment, the company helps to shape a more skilled, informed and future-oriented generation.
